My Story...

 

Born in Miami, Florida to two CREATIVE parents that recognized that ART was the comfortable side of life for their daughter.

 

My Father, was a very hard working businessman that had his own architectural engineering firm.  I can remember when I was little my Dad took me down to the docks in Miami with an easel and sketch pad and told me to draw what I saw.

 

Beginning in 1999, I left the corporate world as a business analyst in Northern Virginia and dove into the "decorative painting" field and traveled around the country to train in various mediums of art.  

 

Faux Finishing began as my forte and I opened a studio in Northern Virginia creating beautiful wall and furniture finishes for customers from the Washington Redskins to prestigious Executives, from "Aeropostile", Pottery Express, Capital Aviation, and an HGTV television show along with host, Ed Bagley creating and designing wall finishes for a home in Washington D.C.

 

Decorative painting is my life and I truly LOVE what I do, from, faux to murals to rosemaling to painting window screens, furniture and more!

 

I love the commoradore between art and friendships within the art field.  After moving back to SW Florida I decided to start a chapter within the International Decorative Art League and was voted in as President of the SW Florida Chapter.  Another field that I love is organizing ART events so I piggybacked a Retail Painting Convention in Naples, Florida for 2 years and organized Faux Finishing Classes for Professional Faux Finish Artists and Instructors.

 

In 2011, I opened a retail shop, “The Painted Cabana” that catered to the “snowbirds” in SW Florida on 5 beautiful acres of Pottery Express in Punta Gorda, Florida.  The retail store is also where I hosted my whimsical art classes.

 

In 2013, I closed up shop and became the “traveling instructor and organizer of art events”.  Not being tied to the shop was so much easier and I can now focus more on exciting classes and Art Retreats.

 

In 2015, my husband and I  created an even BETTER spot on Burnt Store Rd, in Punta Gorda, where we teach all our fabulous classes with many instructors.  My husband, Richard is not only my rock, but also creates all our mermaids, fish, seahorses and more...I could not do this without him!!!

 

My spare time is spent with my fabulous husband who puts up with my ARTSY in Punta Gorda, Florida with the beautiful sunsets, salty air and terrific friendships!
